Kenya Kiunyu - washed

KENYA FINALLY!!

I waited almost two months for this washed Kenya. Just like all the Kenyan coffees we’ve had before, it’s incredibly juicy and fresh, with loads of fruit, bright acidity and a sweet caramel finish.

This one gets a slightly different description though. I’m getting a bit tired of describing coffees only through tasting notes. Lately, I find myself relating much more to the feeling a coffee gives you.

Every time I drink a washed Kenya, I think of oysters. I have no idea why, but somehow they give me the same feeling. Fresh and ridiculously clean — it really doesn’t get much cleaner than this. And then there’s that occasional little goosebumps moment when you realise you’re tasting something incredibly pure and distinct, whether it’s coffee or an oyster.

So, what does drinking this coffee feel like?

Like arriving at the beach and someone hands you an oyster straight from the sea, with a squeeze of lemon (instant goosebumps).
