As a third generation farmer, Jhon Samboni works together with his wife and daughters on his farm, Santa Barbara, which he bought in 2018. Located in the town of Buenavista in the Huilan area of Algecira, his farm sits at an impressive altitude of 2050 masl. It is home to geisha, catuai, red bourbon, and castillo varieties.

It is a very sweet and jammy coffee, typical for anaerobic natural coffee from Huila and Colombia in general. I honestly like these coffees a lot because I find the chocolate and the fruity raspberry/blackberry notes, together with the high acids. The fruitiness and sweetness of the coffee also make it suitable for espresso, the processing flavour does not overcome the character of espresso. The aftertaste is extremely pleasant. Despite being a heavily processed coffee, the acids and notes are very well balanced in the cup.
